Charging Policy
The Valley Community Primary School is a state-funded school, and as such, we are required to provide a free education to all pupils between the ages of 5 and 11. However, there are some activities and resources for which we are allowed to charge parents and carers.
Our charging policy is based on the following principles:
- We will only charge for activities and resources that are not essential to the delivery of the national curriculum.
- We will keep charges to a minimum.
- We will offer financial support to families who are unable to afford to pay charges.
Here are some small examples of the activities and resources for which we may charge:
- Educational visits and trips
- After-school clubs and activities
- Lost or damaged school property
We will always give parents and carers advance notice of any charges, and we will offer payment options to suit their needs. For further details, please read our Charging Policy.
Little Learners
The Valley Community Primary School offers nursery provision for 2-3 year olds. This is a paid-for service, details of which can be found in the Charging Policy.
Nursery Fees
Nursery fees are payable in advance, and we offer a variety of payment options. We also offer financial support to families who are unable to afford to pay the full fees.

We understand that some families may find it difficult to afford to pay charges for activities and resources. We want to ensure that all pupils have equal access to opportunities, and so we offer financial support to those who need it.
