We are planning on regularly blogging about our learning, so we can share what exciting topics we are exploring in class.

We plan to use blogs for sharing all of the exciting things that we are learning, including photographs, videos and lots of writing about all of the wonderful things we have been up to in Year 1!

Please leave your comments.

Key Stage 2 Blogs

Welcome to our Key Stage 2 Blogs!

We are going to use blogging as a tool to improve our literacy skills, in particular our focus will be writing. We will be writing using lots of different genres which could include diary entries, debates, story starters, story settings and many more.

Safeguarding at The Valley

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Protection Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.

The following VCS Safeguarding Policies are available on request from the school

Online Safety

The internet has changed all of our lives, particularly our children’s. For parents and carers this opens up a whole new world of things to be aware of. The internet can be a fantastic place for children and young people where they can talk to friends, be creative and have fun. In our schools, Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in safeguarding children.

Safeguarding is not just about protecting children, learners and vulnerable adults from deliberate harm, neglect and failure to act. It relates to broader aspects of care and education.
